How to edit Reverse DNS (PTR) in WHM?
"PTR is not configured correctly for this domain" It means that your domain's PTR (Pointer Record) record is not configured correctly., which may affect reverse DNS lookups and email authentication
Procedure
- Inicie sesión en WHM como usuario ‘root’.
- Go to «Home / Exim / Configuration Manager. «
- Click on the “Domains and IPs” tab.
- Set the option "Use the reverse DNS entry for the mail HELO/EHLO if available" in "Off«.
- Set the option "Reference /etc/mailhelo for custom outgoing SMTP HELO" in "On».
- Click the “Save” button.
- Acceda a la línea de comandos del servidor como usuario ‘root’ a través de SSH o » Terminal » in WHM.
- Open the nano /etc/mailhelo in your preferred text editor.
- Add the desired entries to the file
domain.tld: mail.domain.tld *: hostname.domain.tld
Please note that “domain.tld”, “mail.domain.tld” and “hostname.domain.tld” should be replaced with the email domain, the HELO hostname response for the domain, and the server hostname, respectively.
- Save the changes and exit the text editor.
