The funny thing is that some saw the blue dress with black decorations while others saw it in white with gold decorations.
The trick behind this lies in how we perceive light: it enters the eye through lenses with different wavelengths that correspond to different colors. The light strikes the retina at the back of the eye, which triggers a series of nerve connections that end in the interpretation (in the brain) of colors.
